CHRISTMAS POINSETTIAS
If you would like to purchase a poinsettia to be placed in the sanctuary or Worship Center during Christmas (in honor of, or in memory of) someone, please fill out the signup sheet in the narthex or Worship Center. $10 cash (or check made out to UMW) per plant. The deadline for ordering poinsettias is Sunday, Nov. 24th.
The Missions Team will be collecting donations to provide Thanksgiving Baskets to less fortunate families in the area. Our Super Shopper team will begin collecting food with your monetary donations. You may donate funds no later than Nov. 25th to Larry or Caroline Huckaby, Betsy Bagley or Nancy Vermilyea.
PREPARED
Scripture often uses roads, highways, references to journeys to bring us along in understanding God’s unfolding message of hope and grace. As we mark off the days to our most holy time of remembering our Savior’s birth, you are invited to hear the call of come through the words of prophets and faithful people. Their rich and evocative words can stir our souls and prepare us for remembering of God’s great gift in Jesus Christ. Come, hear with hope, for the Good News for all the World is on its way! Sundays, 9 & 11 am, December 1st through the 22nd and Christmas Eve Candlelight services at 7 and 9 pm. Come and be “Prepared!”

MISSIONS
Rebecca Earle wants to send Christmas cards over to Italy to Caleb. If anyone would like to send one to him, please get it to Donna or Floyd Collins by December. Caleb is in Italy training his team of young people and always appreciates your prayers.

HANGING OF THE GREENS
Make our Lights Shine! On November 24th at 2:00 pm., Come and help decorate the sanctuary and worship center for Advent, then at 3:00 pm, join us for a Chili Supper to enjoy fellowship and hearty meal together.
CHRISTMAS ANGEL TREE
Angel trees are in the narthex and the Worship Center. Choose a tag from one of the trees to provide a Christmas Gift for a child in our community. LUTHERSVILLE CHRISTMAS PARTY
We will be entertaining our friends at the Luthersville Senior Center on Thursday, Dec 5th leaving the church at 9:30 am. We will sing Christmas songs, play a game or two and eat a delicious lunch. If you would like to go, email Betsy at ebbagley@gmail.com.
“Meeting the Messiah: Scriptures for the Advent Season”
Journey through this Advent season with a purposeful focus on the Christ child. MEETING THE MESSIAH encourages you to slow down and pay attention to the real meaning of Christmas. Six weeks of short readings and guided reflection will enrich your celebration of Advent, Christmas, and Epiphany. You will be filled with joy and thanksgiving as you think about scripture passages from the perspectives of the Holy Spirit, John the Baptist, Mary, the shepherds, the Magi, and Jesus himself. This year, look closely at the Christ child as if you were meeting him for the first time.
