All proceeds will benefit our missionaries – the Earles in Italy, the Haddens in South Dakota, and the Houles in Thailand

UMW will meet on Thursday morning July 15th at 10 AM in the Fellowship Hall. Members are reminded to read chapter 2 in our study book. We agreed at the last meeting to conduct a group discussion on the content. We will meet for fun, food and fellowship at Big Joes after the meeting. All women are invited. We will invite Pastor Carson to attend this meeting to introduce him to our group.

“Ketchup or Catsup?”
“Ketchup or Catsup?” It turns out that either spelling is correct. Both spellings refer to the condiment we all recognize. Evidently the beginnings of Catsup started with a base of fish sauce from the Far East. Who knew? Somewhere along the line, tomato base was added, and over time the fish was dropped and the sugar and vinegar were added. The spelling of ketchup is used much more frequently than is catsup.
For our purposes, we have been using Catsup – since it is a short step to use Catch-up to remind us of the need for Cokes to be in good financial standing. Catch up or giving also mean the same thing.
Giving is part of our spiritual response to the gift of love and salvation that God sent us in Jesus Christ. Giving is never a demand, but a joyful response to what God has already done for us. Giving of our resources is both a spiritual and tactical action that speaks of our relationship to God, in trust, confidence and in full recognition that we can not out give God. Won’t you reflect on your giving? Will you support your incoming Pastor and Cokes with the gift of freedom from financial strains? Plan to come this week, and when invited, bring your special offering to the altar and pray for Pastor Carson and his family.
Visit our website: cokeschapel.org to give regularly or make a one time gift.
The Prayer Team has returned to in-person gatherings. We meet at 5:00 pm on Wednesday nights in the Fellowship Hall. If the Fellowship Hall is in use we will meet in the Eubanks Classroom. Please join us!
