Childcare remodeling of the kitchen and laundry starts 4/21. There will be extra equipment and a dumpster on the property for debris. The childcare will also be using the Youth House for food prep during childcare business hours. The small chest freezer from the Fellowship Hall will probably be moved to the Youth House as well.
Boy Scouts will be working at the Fellowship Hall on Saturday, May 1st and May 8th on the Fellowship Yard Restoration Project & Hagen Memorial Fire Pit.
Trustees will be meeting on Sunday, April 25th in the Fellowship Hall following worship, 11:15.
Backpack Buddies
We are collecting Chef Boyardee Variety Packs for Backpack Buddies. You can purchase a 12-pack at Sam’s or BJ’s for about $10. Please bring them to church and place in narthex. If you would rather donate money to purchase the packs, please write a check to Cokes Chapel and designate for Backpack Buddies — or give check/cash to Betsy Bagley.

A Note from Pastor Lisa
Dear Cokes Family:
Last week I wrote about how our lives have been impacted by COVID. I included an “ask” for you to review your giving to Cokes Chapel.
Talking about money is “touchy”. We get our guard up, feel threatened, resist anyone speaking of something so personal. Maybe that is why Jesus spoke about money so often. Did you know that “sixteen of the thirty-eight parables were concerned with how to handle money and possessions. In the Gospels, an amazing one out of ten verses (288 in all) deal directly with the subject of money. The Bible offers 500 verses.” *
I think Jesus referred to treasures and storehouses because we all see money as a way to security, for provision in all times. We spend much of our time addressing the concerns that accompany money because, well, because it makes life… better.
This is a big subject, so let me narrow it down a bit: the Lord knows our needs, we know that God will provide and show us the way to be good stewards in every aspect of life. I prayerfully ask you to reflect on your stewardship. It’s between you and God. And if you can, and feel led step up, catch up or start giving to Cokes ministry, now is a good time.
In my heart, it’s not about what Cokes needs, so much as it is about what you have the privilege to give. All our resources come from God, don’t they? We are just stewards of God’s goodness.
Each and every one of you has a part in the kingdom work. You are loved! Thank you for the many ways you generously give.
Peace,
Lisa
“No slave can serve two masters; for a slave will either hate the one and love the other, or be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and wealth.” Luke 16: 13

MINISTRY MESSAGE: INTER-GENERATIONAL & YOUTH MINISTRY, April 20, 2021:
In Inter-generational Ministry, the Inter-generational Sunday School Class has begun meeting in-person once again! On Sunday mornings, we are gathering before worship in the Worship Center from 8:40-9:40 AM. Everyone is welcome! (The church’s COVID guidelines for in-person gatherings will be followed. Please remember to wear a mask and practice social distancing.) This month we are exploring what it means to live into God’s call to be holy. This coming Sunday, April 25th, we will study 1 Corinthians 6:12-20 and discuss how holiness encompasses heart, mind, and body.
In Youth Ministry, we began construction on the Memorial Butterfly Garden for Mia Jordan. Last Sunday the foundation was constructed for the area, which is located next to the Cokes Chapel Labyrinth. This Sunday the youth will be planting plants for the garden.
God is at work all around us! May we hold each other by heart and lift each other by prayer as we seek to follow in the way of Christ!
With love,
Kim
