THANK YOU – CHRISTMAS ANGEL TREE
We hosted our Christmas Party for the Angel Tree families on Saturday in the Worship Center.  The “angels” had a great time decorating Christmas cookies and a gingerbread house.  The collapse of the heavily-decorated gingerbread house  did nothing to diminish the excitement and fun!  The parents collected gifts while the kids enjoyed refreshments, Christmas music, and making new friends.   A special thank you to Jackie Simpson, for coordinating the party, and to all the others, who volunteered to help entertain the children, and provide refreshments.  Cokes Chapel helped make Christmas extra special this year for eighteen children, in our community, by providing  gifts and a fun day.  Thank you for your generosity and love during this joyful season!

COWETA COUNTY MEALS ON WHEELS program delivers meals to elderly homebound people in need. We have had a Cokes Chapel Meals on Wheels team composed of 10 to 12 members since 2008. Our team delivers the prepared meals to clients on one of the routes each Friday. Each person on our team is only needed to deliver about one Friday per month. Please consider joining our team as we serve the elderly of our community.  You will make a difference in their lives, and you will also receive a blessing! Women’s Retreat Invitation
 – March 1-3, 2019
Cokes Chapel women are invited to join Harmony Grove UMC Women’s Retreat, at Methodist retreat center Lake Junaluska, North Carolina

Theme: Peace~~ Locating God in our Daily Lives
Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled, and do not let them be afraid. John 14: 27

Jesus promises to give us peace. We also know that at times it is difficult to find peace or maintain it. The news of the day unsettles us, the call from the doctor alarms us, the day to day challenges of navigating life can make us feel frayed and at odds with this promise.  Pastor Lisa will lead this retreat in which we will explore what Jesus intends for us through His promise of peace; talk about some of the barriers we encounter in maintaining peace; and finally, practice ways to increase our peace on a daily basis.

I look forward to our discoveries in God’s Word and the fellowship that will renew us for a stronger daily walk in Christ that draws us closer to Him and to one another. God has good in store for us!
