SPR ANNOUNCEMENT
Your Staff Parish Committee and I are delighted to announce that Kim Reindl has accepted the position of Youth Director, expanding her current duties as Director of Intergenerational and Children’s ministry. Her new title will be Director of Intergenerational Ministries, Youth, and Children.

We are truly fortunate to have Kim on staff with her exceptional gifts in teaching, creating and developing fresh approaches to discipleship. Kim has a heart for our youth and children, and a deep commitment to connecting our church as a family, in worship and in many ways that will enrich us as a community in our faith life.

Look for more from Kim in the coming weeks as she develops plans for the Youth, Children, and more intergenerational opportunities to grow in faith together. Please continue prayers for all the many facets of the church that make us the kind of church that others recognize the love of Christ is in us! Finally, take a minute to welcome Kim and offer your support!

In Christ,

NATIONAL TEEN DRIVER SAFETY WEEK, OCTOBER 15-21
Abby’s Angel’s Foundation’s goal is to create a community movement of support and awareness for our young drivers and their families!
Car wrecks are the leading cause of death for 15-19-year old’s nationally each year. Abby’s Angels Foundation was created in August 2013 to forever honor 9-year old Abby. The family was in a car wreck caused by a distracted 18-year old driver who ran a red light in Newnan. The entire family was injured; however, Abby was pronounced brain dead on Christmas Eve. Abby gave the greatest gift of life through organ donation on Christmas Day.

Abby’s Angel’s Foundation is asking for prayers for all the young drivers for traveling mercies and protection; safe and responsible decisions as a driver and passenger; to be one who honors life and has courage to share values that influence others for safe driving behaviors; and for courage to use their voice to save lives.
The change in behavior begins with the young drivers and the collective support of the family community. Through God’s grace and support, and our faith, we can create a community movement of support and awareness for our young drivers and their families.

SERMON SERIES: “HOW CHRISTIANS GROW”
Living a life that reflects an active faith involves so much more than a nod on Sunday morning. But how do we determine we are living the life of faith that Jesus asks of us?
Our heart commitment is the very first step! Getting our hearts fully engaged opens the door to the growing, joyful, life that Jesus speaks of. Following Jesus is a growing endeavor: we learn through giving of ourselves through time, through talents that God has gifted us with, through giving of our financial resources, through our service to others and by witnessing to how God is at work in us. Every time we loosen our hold on “our” life in any of these fashions, God reveals more love, grace, and mercy! Faithful steps, prayerful commitments and God with us, helps us to grow as Christians, bringing light and hope, in Christ’s name, to the world.
What will you commit to for 2018?
Join us as we consider our Stewardship Life and commit by returning the Service & Giving cards which allow Finance to plan and honor what God desires for Cokes Chapel this coming year!
Sundays, Oct. 22, and 29, and a Combined Service on Nov. 5th at 10:30 am in the Sanctuary with a covered dish Celebration Meal following worship in the Contemporary Worship Center.
